How to Enable Lite Mode or Data Saver in Chrome Android?

Learn how to enable the data saver or lite mode in Google Chrome for Android. The lite mode saves the data by replacing the heavy files with smaller sizes.

The lite mode or data saver mode tries to serve the compressed files via Google CDN cache which typically reduces the size of the website and improves the loading speed on a slow network connection. It also caches most website files on local storage that avoids reloading the files from the server.

I keep the lite mode or data saver mode enabled in the chrome browser on my android phone. On average it helps me save 0.5 to 1GB of data monthly since I mostly prefer web browsers rather than a native app. Since I also have a data limit to adhere to each month, the chrome lite mode comes in handy and proves to be extremely beneficial.

I do not find any major difference while browsing off and on lite mode settings. Chrome data saver mode is also useful when you’re offline or at a low-speed data connection. The website loads faster and lighter than usual which makes this option beneficial.
