Setup Homepage Layout in Opera on Android

The Opera browser gives us the ability to customize the browser appearance including the homepage. You can modify the start page layout, background, content, or sections appearing on the home screen.

You may also disable all the sections or startpage options to have a clean and clutter-free start page in the browser tab.

In this guide, I have shared written instruction about:

Setup Startpage Layout in the Opera app

The homepage or startpage tab in the Opera browser is loaded with news, site icons, search bar, etc. which we can customize using the Start page customization option. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Launch the Opera app on your Android device.

You can choose the preset wallpaper or upload the custom wallpaper image to set as the background image.

Along with wallpaper, the start page customization options offer the features or options to:

  • Enable or disable Speed dials that list the shortcut icons to the websites you visit frequently.
  • Use or turn off the Suggested Sites feature that will display related sites depending on your browsing history.
  • Activate or turn off the Live Scores feature on the home page that showcases all the live sports events and events scheduled ahead.
  • Disable or allow the News feature to showcase all the latest news updates on the Opera homepage.

TIP: You can remove the Start page personalization option on the homepage. Turn off the Customisations shortcut toggle switch to remove.

Bottom Line

If you want to read the latest news and sports updates on the Opera start page, enable them. Otherwise, the homepage looks neat and clutter-free when you turn off the news, live scores, and suggested site features.

However, the speed dial feature facilitates faster access to sites you visit repeatedly. You may enable it for convenient browsing.
