The online advertisement has taken the exponential curve these days. Having said that, there has been a huge spike in online advertisement and digital spending. This has also resulted in a few cheap and misleading ad agencies to show up in the market.

These agencies typically use cheap techniques to lure customers with intrusive and malicious ads. Hence, it’s always recommended to block if the site shows intrusive or misleading ads. Google’s Chrome browser has an in-built feature to block these ads. All you need to do is enable the options under site settings.

The other day my younger brother was using my laptop for research about his project when I saw some intrusive and misleading ads popping up on the website. I had to do something about it!

How to Block Misleading Ads on Sites in Chrome Computer?

Google Chrome automatically blocks misleading ads on computers using their AI and ML technology. All you need to do is enable the option to block these intrusive ads. It will still allow acceptable ads that are following ethical standards.

Here are the steps to block the misleading ads in chrome browser on any computer:

  1. Launch the Google Chrome browser on Computer.
  2. Click on vertical 3dots icon menu for options.
  3. Select Settings from the list.
  4. Scroll down to the Privacy and Security section, and select the Site settings from the menu.
  5. Choose the Ads option within Site settings.
  6. Toggle the button to turn OFF and block misleading ads.

Block Intrusive and Misleading ads in Chrome Computer

This will block if the site shows misleading or intrusive ads. However, all the acceptable ads will display on the website. This way a genuine content creator or online publisher will be rewarded and a website that is meant to only make money with illegal ads on computers will be punished.
