Learn how to allow or block JavaScript execution on Microsoft Edge Android. JavaScript is essential, on the other side, hackers are misuse and inject scripts.

The Microsoft Edge browser allows JavaScript execution by default, however, there are few instances when you need to block the JavaScript. Especially when the website tries to load an unauthorized script into the browser and try to hack into our data.

JavaScript has been widely used by developers these days to make the website more interactive and pleasing. But, if we block the JS code, then these websites might not work as intended. Hence, we do need to keep the JS running.

But, in case if you trying to figure out whether to keep JS running or block, then here is my personal suggestion — Block the JavaScript execution and add sites to exception list that you want to run the JS code.

How to Block JavaScript in Edge Android?

With a single toggle, you can easily block the javascript execution in the edge android browser for any website.

Here are the steps to block the JavaScript execution on the Microsoft Edge browser for any Android OS phone:

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge for Android browser.
  2. Tap on horizontal 3dots icon menu for options
  3. Select the Settings menu from the options list.
  4. Scroll down to the Site Settings option, and tap on it.
  5. Choose the JavaScript option from the list which is set to Allowed by default.
  6. Disable the toggle to block the JavaScript settings.

Block JavaScript execution in Edge Android

This will block the JavaScript execution within the browser for all the websites.

Please note that most of the website builds and runs on JS these days, hence as mentioned earlier, there are chances that few websites might not work as intended after blocking JavsScript. In that case, we have something known as exceptions. It allows JavaScript to run only on the websites listed in exceptions.

Simply add the URL address of the website that you need to add as an exception for allowing JavaScript execution. For the rest of the website, the JS script will still be blocked.

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge for Android browser.
  2. Tap on horizontal 3dots icon menu for options
  3. Select the Settings menu from the options list.
  4. Scroll down to the Site Settings option, and tap on it.
  5. Choose the JavaScript option from the list which is set to Allowed by default.
  6. Enable the toggle to Allow the JavaScript settings.

Allow JS to run on all sites Edge Android

This will enable JavaScript on your Edge browser for Android. The JavaScript execution is enabled by default, however, you can just disable or enable per your needs.

You can either choose to enable or block the JavaScript execution on the Edge browser. As mentioned, the default setting is enabled, but it’s a personal choice to disable or block javascript if you think it’s harmful.

Personally, I prefer to keep the JavaScript block and only whitelist the websites that absolutely need JavaScript execution.

Similarly, you can also enable or block javascript in the Edge computer browser on windows or mac computer. The options to control JavaScript within the edge desktop browser are better compared to edge android browser.
